Since moving to Alaska in July 2021, I have loved every minute of being with LKSD. The people in the District Office are very knowledgeable and helpful- don’t be afraid to ask questions.
LKSD offers a plethora of Professional Development opportunities, take them! Whether you have been teaching for a couple years or 30, the PD sessions are full of useful information particular to LKSD.
Since being here I’ve developed a close relationship with my staff at Akiuk Memorial School; building these relationships are key to adapting to village life. The experience you have is what you make of it. Be open to new adventures- you will be happy you did!
